Harvest Group was invited to attend the Xpatweb Global Mobility Conference as a large employer under the Department of Home Affairs Trusted Employer Scheme.
Attendees included stakeholders from various sectors, including Financial, Automotive, Technology, Industrial, Government, and Trade. Attendees had the opportunity to network and engage in Q&A sessions, followed by expert speakers who provided information on everything from the Trusted Employer Scheme to expatriate compensation and mobility technology.
Speakers included Phindiwe Mbhele, Director of Corporate Accounts at the Department of Home Affairs. Mr Mbhele made a special mention of Harvest Group and the recent launch of their new machines. He also provided a comprehensive update on the Trusted Employer Scheme
What Harvest is doing for the local community with job creation and specialized skills also excited Mamphokhu Khuluvhe, Director at the Department of Higher Education and Training. She also further shared insights on the development of the 2023/2024 Critical Skills List.
Dr. Markus Thill, President of Region Africa at Robert Bosch, talked about the necessity of expats in global mobility and the trend of digital nomads and remote work.
Tanya Tosen, Tax and Remuneration Specialist at TCSAS, discussed the challenges of South Africa’s grey list status and its impact on banks, rising costs for expats, and South Africa’s ranking. She also highlighted the importance of data analytics in mobility.

- Collaboration with private sector to clear backlog by December this year.
- Commitment to addressing rejections and inconsistencies in applications.
